June 11, 2022 - my roommate graduated!

June 10, 2022 - thought this was a kinda cool looking old car even though I’m not a car person, and then the ‘911 AAH’ on the main part of the license plate got me so I HAD to get a picture

June 9, 2022 - when I look at this building, I always wonder how meetings with the architect(s) went (if there were any meetings at all…maybe they were given free reign)

June 8, 2022 - small plums

June 7, 2022 - after some googling this seems to be a sumac plant? Some of the flower clusters/bunches are a darker red

June 6, 2022 - thought this vehicle outside my apartment building looked a little strange…turns out служба is ‘service’ which is rather vague, but аварийная means ‘emergency’. I wonder what kind of emergency they were responding to? There are ambulances here but they look like normal ambulance cars rather than trucks? So I’m not sure if this kind of vehicle shows up in the event of a medical emergency or a different kind of emergency…or maybe any kind of emergency. It was gone when I exited the building

June 5, 2022 - menu at a recently opened bubble tea shop not too far from where I live. The boba and tea are just okay…but as far as I know this is the only bubble tea shop in this city 🙃

June 4, 2022 - Sasha, NO CALL ME! and БУНКЕР (bunker?) graffiti

June 3, 2022 - baklava at a Turkish cafe

June 2, 2022 - cherries from one of my students (home-grown!)

June 1, 2022 - small pillow which a bus driver used for holding change (the odd colored part in the bottom left corner is my finger 😒)

May 31, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 31: unfortunate news. My electric kettle no longer has any endurance and doesn’t boil water any more. As someone who enjoys hot tea even in the summer, I am sad. There is a stove available, but an electric kettle is more convenient

May 30, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 30: the closest thing I’ve eaten to fish recently

May 29, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 29: wipes, napkins and toilet paper packaging with lots of stripes

May 28, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 28: something which looked like a small fair or market in a mall parking lot

May 27, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 27: essay written by one of my students. His essays always make me laugh, though I sincerely hope he finds a more fulfilling hobby than playing computer games

May 26, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 26: schedule which I drew on the board in our teacher’s room which ended up getting erased when our room began to be used for a one-on-one Russian lesson because there aren’t enough classrooms this month 🙄

May 25, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 25: According to Wikipedia, the Tian Shan mountain range covers at least 80% of Kyrgyzstan. Thus there are many mountain-themed things here. One example is the water brand creatively named Tien Shan, owned by the beverage company Shoro

May 24, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 24: intricate design on my sheer curtains. The design doesn’t cover the whole curtain. Also, I have other curtains too which are not sheer

May 23, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 23: bit plain but nutritious and delicious snack. From one of my students, a woman in her 60s who brings me a food item EVERY. DAY. (I have told her several times she doesn’t need to, but she said she likes to! )

May 22, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 22: fabric pad on the sofa. It’s actually relatively heavy. I don’t know the name for it (if there is one, which I imagine there is). Either way, it’s very beautiful. The two sides have different patterns

May 21, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 21: symmetry in rainbows or something

May 20, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 20: beverage (tea) at a cafe about a week ago

May 19, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 19: today’s tea has certainly felt like an indulgence given that I couldn’t have any yesterday morning due to a blood test. (Everything’s fine, it’s a silly visa thing.)
and dark chocolate!

May 18, 2022 - MicroBlog Photo Challenge Day 18: random picture of a funchoza (фунчеза) salad I bought from the store
